ATSea Baltic Match Race, Stockholm 13-15/8

AtSea Baltic Match Race is the first of three regattas in the Baltic Match Tour. The Baltic Match Tour is a new and unique match racing event that consists of three ISAF grade 2 regattas sailed “back to back” during nine days in a row in Sweden, Estonia and Finland 13-21/8.

 Each regatta consists of three days of racing and after the prize giving at each individual regatta the teams travel night-time by ferry to the next venue.


The teams consist of international and Nordic top-level match racing teams.

The competition

11 skippers from nine countries are participating in the AtSea Baltic Match Race event. With more than half of all skippers ranked top 25 on the ISAF world match racing ranking list, the first day of racing kicked started at 09.00 local time with stabile 10 knots of breeze and sunshine in Stockholm.

The Swedish World Match Racing Tour sailor, Björn Hansen, is one of the founders of the event. – We received very positive feedback from the first edition of the Baltic Match Tour last year and we are very glad to see that the level of the participants is even higher this year. For example we have Adam Minoprio from New Zeeland, the reigning world match racing champion, sailing with Michele Perris.

The AtSea Baltic Match Race is sailed in six J/92’s. Round robin races are planned for Friday and Saturday 13-14/8 and semi-finals including final on Sunday 15/8.
